And Hypocrites

This Terry Schaivo case... ugh. When are people on the right going to start getting sick of their own side's pandering and hypocrisy?

Let that poor woman's body die for heaven's sake... As I see it, her soul is long gone (thank goodness for that). All that remains is this drama in which people stake out their positions as vicious ideologues or people willing to deal with reality. And the reality is that she's in a persistent vegetative state, and that her husband has the legal right to determine what happens next. Her parents are being exploited by so-called "pro-life" forces. How sad that they would subject their own daughter to all this as a result.

Pro-life is a joke. They could care less about actual human lives. Bunch of grandstanding, intrusive hypocrites.

Human behavior sure can be repulsive.

To my beautiful wife, I am happy to see you writing. Here is my comment on the Schaivo case:

So-called Christians and conservatives get on the bully pulpit and extol the sanctity of marriage and object to government intervention to extend this institution, and all of its legal protections, to gays. Yet, when it suits their needs, these same hypocrites pass and support legislation that is designed to allow the government to insert itself into an extremely private decision between a husband and wife: the decision to help one die with dignity.

In the past, you could at least count on Republicans to support your right to privacy as they campaigned against big government. Now, it seems Republicans only oppose big government when it is trying to redistribute the great wealth of our country.

I hope there is a second coming of Christ…

Not so much on the wealth distribution thing...but I wouldn't mind getting the Rapture out of the way so the rest of us can move on with our lives.

Welcome to the Progressive Women Bloggers webring, btw.
