I used to have a Web site called dreamsalon.com...
...but I let the registration expire, and now that domain belongs to an adult site. Bummer.
The site contained my musings about being a stripper, which was how I supported myself while I wrote my dissertation.
I completed a Ph.D. in English in 1999 and am no longer a stripper, nor do I work in academia. However, I'd like to publish my old essays here -- as soon as I can find them, that is. We moved a few months ago, and they're around here somewhere... I'd like to add some commentary, now that I'm an ex-stripper. .
In the meantime, I will post my musings as an observer of the human condition.
If there are any questions you'd like me answer about myself, go ahead and post them. I will answer the good ones.

To be honest - as a former stripper/dancer - I fully and completely agree with EVERYTHING you said in "Good & Bad Things About Stripping" and "My Old Stripper Manifesto". I like how you have changed since you first wrote them. I kept a journal when I was dancing and when I looked back at it - "wow...". I still would like to believe that most the guys that went into the club were just looking for companionship - but we both know its not the case. I really appreciate you re-posting these articles. They made me realize/remember that I am not alone in thinking and feeling as I do about my past. Oh and I truly loved that quote from Virginia Woolf. Thanks for sharing!
